Rob Thomas & Miley Cyrus Collaborate in The Last Song

That’s the message Miley Cyrus posted on her official Twitter page back in June. The background of her Twitter page features a great shot of the mid-60’s era Beatles, who are legitimate musical geniuses. But Rob Thomas?

The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter and Matchbox 20 frontman wrote back:

@mileycyrus hey sista. got a thousand messages saying how many nice things you’ve been saying about me. we’ll have to find time to write.

Now the teen music queen and the man who wrote “Smooth” are teaming to collaborate on a song for Miley’s upcoming film The Last Song, about a girl and her estranged father who reconnect over music.

According to The Daily News, Cyrus was able to realize her dream of working with her idol when director Adam Shankman approached Thomas on her behalf.

“My buddy Adam Shankman, who just directed Miley’s movie, called me on the phone the other day and was like, ‘You have to write a song for this movie,’” says Thomas. “It was so funny.”

Miley Cyrus Says Goodbye to Disney!!!

Miley Cyrus as Hannah MontanaMiley Cyrus has confirmed that she will be turning her back on Hannah Montana when her contract for the fourth season of the popular teenage show ends. Hannah Montana is a show about a girl who is a rock star by night, and a regular teenage girl by day. Its a comedy series focused on the trouble the pop star gets into as a teenager whilst trying to keep her secret.

Fans are left wondering how Miley's career will fair when she parts with Disney, is this a complete split from Disney, or a split from Hannah Montana specifically? These questions are still unanswered. Either way, Miley Cyrus has a budding singing career, and is about to go on the Miley Cyrus 2009 Tour.

Another starlet who left Disney after the success of her first feature film is Hilary Duff, who starred in 'The Lizzie McGuire Movie'. However Hilary Duff's split from Disney had more to do with money, and 'creative differences'. Although she's not in need of money, with an estimated fortune of $100 million dollars, but since her split from Disney her career has plunged, and is now lacking work.

For fans left wondering what this split will mean for Miley's career, don't fret because Miley's order book is packed full until 2011. She is currently working on her new movie, The Last Song, and is currently in talks for a tween version of Whitney Houston's box office hit, 'The Bodyguard', which is being dubbed 'Personal Security.'

For those who are already dreading the final episode of Hannah Montana, there is a new series premiering next month o the ABC Family Network with a similar premise starring Alea Vega and David Cassidy which is called 'Ruby and the Rockits'.

Miley Cyrus Dating Nick Jonas? Apparently Not...

Miley Cyrus Dating Steve RushtonReports during the last few weeks confirming that Miley Cyrus is now dating former-boyfriend Nick Jonas could now be blown out of the water by claims by a national tabloid.

The 16-year-old Hanah Montana cutie has been romantically linked with British guitarist, Steve Rushton, 22, who now plays guitar in Miley Cyrus' backing band.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Steve relocated to America after signing his deal with Disney. Miley couldn't wait for him to move. He first met her on the set of Hannah Montana The Movie, after he was asked to play lead guitar for her band."

"They hit it off straight away. When they have been apart they have been spending hours instant messaging each other. She is still young but she is smitten with him. They are very much in love."

Guitarist, Steve got his first break as a bassist in UK band, Son of Dork. More recently, he has written songs for Miley Cyrus to perform on her Hannah Montana series, and upcoming Disney film, G-Force.

It has also been claimed that Steve and Miley's ex-boyfriend, Justin Gaston - whom she split with recently - didnt see eye-to-eye. A source said: "Justin never got on with Steve. He was put out by Steve's fantastic relationship with Miley's dad, Billy Ray Cyrus."

Miley Cyrus will soon be starting her Miley Cyrus Tour, which will stop off in around 40 locations in America, and 10 locations in England. Tickets for the Miley Cyrus UK Tour have all-but sold out.

Miley Cyrus is dating Steve Rushton???

The 16-year-old US star has been romantically linked to British guitarist Steve Rushton, 22, who now plays guitar in her backing band for her film ‘Hannah Montana: The Movie’.

A source told Britain’s The Sun newspaper: “Steve relocated to the US after signing his deal with Disney.

“Miley couldn’t wait for him to move. He first met her on the set of the ‘Hannah Montana’ film after he was asked to play lead guitar for her band.

“They hit it off straight away. When they have been apart they have been spending hours instant messaging each other.

“She is still young but she is smitten with him. They are very much in love.”

Steve got his first break as bassist in Son Of Dork – fronted by ex-Busted star James Borne (who was previously in popular British band Busted) – who had two top ten singles in the UK in 2005 and 2006.

More recently he has written songs for Miley to perform on her TV show ‘Hannah Montana’ and forthcoming Disney film ‘G-Force’.

It has also been claimed Steve and Miley’s ex-boyfriend Justin Gaston – whom she recently split from - didn’t see eye to eye.

Miley Cyrus to work with Hugh Jackman

Rumors are abuzz on the internet tonight that producers of the X-Men franchise - who are reportedly eager to roll out another X-men project - are interested in working with Miley Cyrus.

Helping add fuel to the unconfirmed fire is that Miley Cyrus and Hugh Jackman were recently spotted having lunch together in L.A.

According to one eyewitness at the eatery: "It was surprising to see Hugh Jackman having a meal with Miley Cyrus. It wasn't romantic. They had a few producer-type people with them. It looked like a business dinner. I can only guess what it could be. I'm sure it wasn't just Hugh angling for a guest role on Hannah Montana.

If the rumors pan out, one can only speculate as to what Miley's special mutant powers will be.

If anything, at least Halle Berry's character Storm will now have some stiff competition for best hair in the X-Men franchise.

Miley Cyrus Says She And Nick Jonas Have 'Reconnected'

Almost immediately after news broke that Miley Cyrus had split from boyfriend Justin Gaston, speculation arose that she and her ex, Nick Jonas, have rekindled their romance. And the teens haven't done too much to discourage the rumors: On Thursday, photos of Miley and Nick jet-skiing in Georgia emerged.

So, are Miley and Nick back together? Well, when Miley spoke to radio station 107.5 The River in Tennessee, it seemed like the answer was a definite "kind of."

"He's my best friend, and we still hang out all the time, and we've definitely reconnected," she said when asked if it's weird to work with her ex. "And we don't know what's going to happen in the future, but right now we're just kicking it and hanging out as much as we can."

The pair started to ignite rumors when they were seen at lunch together a few months back. Miley further explained that the two have managed to put any old problems aside to focus on the future.

"We both just kind of saw each other again and kind of decided this whole thing was stupid and ... we all were over the separation," she said. "And our families are super happy that we're hanging out again."

When MTV News caught up with Nick Jonas earlier this week, he explained a bit about how Cyrus ended up on their new album.

"I think ['Before the Storm' is] probably one of my favorite songs, because it has a great story to it. It's a duet with Miley, which is great." The song didn't originally include Miley until Nick saw it as the perfect opportunity to record with his ex and to share their tale of young love with their fans. "It's a good thing that happened, and it'll be a good one to play live."

Recently, Joe sort of revealed Niley's reunition on Larry King Live,

Larry King: Joe do you have a girlfriend?
Joe Jonas: I do.
Larry King: Is she as famous as his?
(Laugh)
Joe Jonas: I don’t think anyone’s as famous as Miley.

Miley Cyrus To Attend Jonas Brothers Concert Tonight?

Miley Cyrus has a secret — and she’s not telling.

Rumor has it that the 16-year-old singer/actress is going to be performing at the Jonas Brothers concert tonight. She tweeted, “In one of my favorite cities with my favorite people. Guess where I am and what I’m doing. I will never tell.”

Another tweet confirmed that Miley in indeed in Arlington, Texas. “Ohhhmyygaawwddd, Miley frreakin Cyrus is here! Vip is waiting outside these glass doors, she walked by, and we saw her but it was too fast for anyone to take pics. 100 percent serious. I’m sure she’s here to sing ‘Before The Storm’ (Nick and Miley’s duet).”

The Jonas Brothers World Wide Tour starts tonight at 7p.m. in the Cowboy Stadium. American Idol winner, Jordin Sparks will open for the group.

Teen superstar Miley Cyrus brings her wildly popular Disney Channel alter ego down home when Hannah Montana The Movie comes to Blu-rayTM Hi-Def and DVD on August 18, 2009 from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment. The first-ever full-length Hannah Montana theatrical movie is available for a limited time only in a Three-Disc Blu-ray Combo Pack that includes the film in both Blu-ray and DVD formats, as well as Two-Disc and Single-Disc DVD editions. Both the Blu-ray Combo Pack and Two-Disc DVD include DisneyFile, a digital copy of the movie that can be viewed on an array of electronic devices.

Miley Cyrus gave some local diners a great surprise in Savannah, Georgia on 15th of June when she decided to get up on stage at a local restaurant called Sting Rays on Tybee Island.

She sang a new song that she had written down on a piece of paper she pulled out of her pocket. The song was about a break up and the locals said she did a great job singing and playing the guitar with a local musician named Jason Courtney.
