Ashley Tisdale stopped by the MySpace Celebrity offices a few weeks ago and dished on everything from her new album to her favorite fashion trends. Check out what the 23-year-old singer/actress had to say:
On her musical inspirations: “I love Madonna, and Gwen Stefani, Katy Perry. I have a long list of that. I’m inspired by a lot of people and I really look up to Madonna, Gwen Stefani and Christina Aguilera. They’re always changing with each album…a different look to their album. It keeps them more interesting. That’s what I was really inspired to do with this one.”
On who’s on her iPod: “The Fray, The Used, Katy Perry, My Chemical Romance, Pink, The Veronicas. I have a lot of people on my iPod.”
On her first album, Headstrong and new album, Guilty Pleasure: “The first album, I felt like I was learning a lot about myself as an artist. This one, I just came in doing exactly what I wanted, the sound that I wanted. It has a lot of breakup songs, which are my favorite. I’m really excited about that. I hope everyone likes it. There’s definitely one song which is a ballad that is the token song that I’m experiencing right now. It’s kind of half-and-half. I really want it to be something to rock out to and have fun…getting ready to go out or in the car. Hopefully I succeeded at that.”
On her favorite fashion trend of the moment: “Probably scarves. I’m wearing one right now. I do love scarves. I think they go with everything — sweats, skirts, jeans.”
On her first concert: “Hanson! I was like in love with Zac Hanson.”
On if she could choose between movies and music: “I can’t pick one, I can’t. I love them both. Music is for me to be who I am. Being in movies is being a different character. I love them both. But there is something about being with an audience. Performing live — there is just no…I can’t even describe the feeling, it’s amazing.”
On any misconceptions about her: “I’m really shy and I don’t know if people know that about me. I’m a really shy person. I think sometimes it comes off like I’m not nice or something, but I am really nice and if you see me at the mall, definitely come up to me.”
