Country singer Taylor Swift is planning to perform a never-before-heard-version of her latest single "You Belong With Me" at the MTV's Video Music Awards this year. It will be Taylor Swift's first time performing at the awards show. She said in a recent interview about this experience performing at the MTV VMA's below:

"I'm so excited that MTV and the VMAs have invited me to perform because I think this year's show will be unlike anything they've ever done. I love incorporating theatrics into my performances, and the VMAs have always allowed artists to run with that. MTV has been so good to me, and I could not be more excited about this year's VMAs."

More performers and nominations for the show will be announce soon. As usual you should know by now, Russell Brand will come back and host the awards show for the 2nd time.

Taylor Swift On Glamour: Cover Story

Life couldn’t be better for country cutie Taylor Swift. The 19-year-old singing sensation recently won Album of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards (the youngest person to ever do so), and she can boast that she outsold the likes of Britney, Lil Wayne and Coldplay last year. And now, Taylor is embarking on a 52-city tour with opening act and BFF Kellie Pickler. The girl who grew up on a Christmas tree farm opened up to Glamour about naming names, early career failures, and the perils of dating.

Anyone who’s grooved to tracks like “Forever & Always” knows Taylor isn’t shy about telling it like it is, even if it’s at the expense of a certain Jonas brother. Don’t expect the singer to clam up now that she’s a bona fide celebrity. “I’ve never felt like I needed to tone down being seen as a regular person,” Taylor said. “When I first started doing MySpace, I wrote my bio in the first person. I didn’t want my MySpace page to look like a publicity promo site, so I was the one doing all the commenting, and I was the one putting up pictures and videos. And I’ve approached my whole career like that — I don’t see that ever changing.”

Though it seems Taylor struck success virtually overnight, there were a few bumps on her road to stardom. “I had a record deal that didn’t work out, and it was devastating to me, she told the mag. “When I was 13, I got a meeting with RCA Records, and they said they wanted to sign me to a development deal. [After a year] they decided to shelf me, and I had a choice to make. I could have stayed in development with them, but I figured that if they didn’t believe in me then, they weren’t ever going to believe in me. So I made a tough decision and struck out on my own.”

With a chock-a-block schedule of touring, interviews and meet and greets, the singer’s dating life is, shall we say, unconventional. “It’s always going to be long-distance, even if I date the boy who lives next door to me in Nashville. I’ll be flying to see him and flying him places to see me. It feels like it would involve more scheduling, and I already deal with a lot of scheduling in my life. Of course, if I met somebody who was worth it, I would probably stop thinking that way!”

Taylor Swift Hates Partying

Taylor Swift avoids the wild Hollywood party scene - because she's not interested in "getting wasted".

The country singer is rarely seen out and about at celebrity haunts, opting only to put in appearances at music award ceremonies.

And the clean-cut blonde insists you'll never catch her stumbling out of a club.
Swift tells America's Glamour magazine, “I’ve never been fascinated by the party lifestyle. Penciling in a night to get wasted is not something I want to do.

“I don’t think I’d be a party girl (even if I were) in college. When I was in high school, I remember seeing girls crying in the bathroom every Monday about what they did at a party that weekend. I never wanted to be that girl crying in the bathroom.”

Taylor Swift and T-Pain Recording 'Thug Story' in Studio

A clip showing Taylor Swift and T-Pain's recording session for "Thug Story" has been found. It begins with Taylor rapping behind the mic while T-Pain is on the couch watching the session. It then moves on to capture T-Pain who wears a casual yellow t-shirt taking over the recording booth to sing his verses.

Taylor Swift and T-Pain's collaborative track was played for the first time at 2009 CMT Music Awards at Sommet Centere on June 16. It was showcased through a video specially filmed in Nashville, Tennessee for the annual event.

Beside hooking up with T-Pain on "Thug Story", Taylor Swift also joined forces with rock band Def Leppard, delivering a song titled "Pour Some Sugar On Me" at the awards. During one of her acceptance speeches when collecting her two trophies, she said, "I want to thank CMT for letting me live so many of my dreams this year. I got to sing with my heroes. Def Leppard, I love you guys so much."

Joe Jonas Takes a Dig at Taylor Swift

It seems that Joe Jonas cannot leave the past alone. At the Jonas Brothers concert in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Monday night Joe made some last minute changes to the song "Much Better.” Instead of singing "now I’m done with super stars," he sang, "now I’m done with country stars", which obviously was in reference to ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift. Seems like Joe and Taylor are the new Nick Carter and Paris Hilton. Check out the video below to hear the impromptu change.

Joe Jonas Gets Back at Taylor Swift

19-year-old Jonas made headlines last year when ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift told Ellen DeGeneres, “I’m not even going to remember the boy who broke up with me over the phone in 25 seconds when I was 18.” Swift, now 19, dedicated the biting song “Forever & Always” on her 2008 album “Fearless” to Jonas.

It seems Jonas is now seeking revenge for the bad publicity. Track 8 off of “Lines, Vines and Trying Times” makes reference to the Taylor Swift song “Teardrops On My Guitar”: “I got a rep for breakin’ hearts/Now I’m done with superstars/And all the tears on her guitar/I’m not bitter.”

When MTV News asked Jonas whether the song was about Swift, he remained tight-lipped, saying, “We went through a lot in the past year-and-a-half, all of us. And you’re just going to have to get the record and figure it out for yourself.”

The new Jonas Brothers album also features another Jonas ex – Nick Jonas and Miley Cyrus patched things up long enough to record “Before the Storm”, a song presumably about their own breakup in 2007.

The Jonas Brothers begin their 53-date summer tour in Dallas on Saturday, following Friday's free Toyota Concert Series show on the Today Show.

Swift Stops New York Traffic with Outdoor Show

Country star Taylor Swift has thanked fans in New York City for battling through the rain to watch her perform a free outdoor show in NYC’s Rockefeller Center on Friday morning (May 29)

Traffic in the Big Apple was brought to a standstill as hundreds of fans crowded the streets around Rockefeller Plaza in the wet conditions in anticipation of Swift's concert for TV's "Today Show."

Sparkling in a teal dress and black boots, the 19-year-old Nashville princess performed three of her hits songs — “Love Story,” “Our Song,” “Teardrops on My Guitar,” and the most recent chart topper, “You Belong With Me.”

And the singer is grateful for her fans' dedication after learning they lined up for hours to secure prime spots around the stage.

Taylor updated her MySpace at 2:45 AM this morning, saying, “It’s pretty priceless having my dad out here with me. Tonight I went shopping at TopShop in New York with the band. I got purple shoes. I’m really excited about the purple shoes, and I just needed to tell someone. I got purple shoes. Ok. That’s done. Tomorrow, after the performance on the Today show, I’ll fly back to Nashville and record a lot of new songs I’ve written in the last few weeks. I’m really excited about that. I want to get back to the tour though. Bad. I miss it every time I’m gone for a day. I’ve never had more fun doing anything in my life than I have on the Fearless tour. Thank you so much to everyone who has come to see the show. I can’t even tell you how unreal it is for me, being up there, looking at those crowds. I just never thought I’d luck out like this.”

The Jonas Brothers Deny Writing Song About Taylor Swift

There has been a lot of speculation recently that the Jonas Brothers song “Paranoid” from the album Lines, Vines and Trying Times was written about Joe Jonas’ ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift.

The lyrics go as follows:
Caught in a nightmare
Can’t wake up
That’s why my ex is still my ex
I never trust a word she says
I’m running all the background checks
And she’s freaking out

Nick says about the song, “This is really funny because people think this is about something particular but the truth to that is it’s one of the only songs of the record that’s not about a direct personal experience.” While Kevin adds “It’s, like, the most general song.”

Taylor Swift: All Ready To Tour

After tweeting, “I blog on myspace on my days off,” Taylor Swift popped in on her MySpace to update all her fans on what she’s been doing for the past week.

The 19-year-old ACM winner wrote, “I know that I use the word “excited” in my blogs more than any other word in the English language, but I have to say… I’m really excited right now. It’s really hitting me that I get to go on my first headlining tour. With a big stage. And I’m not opening up for people anymore. And I get to pick what we eat in catering! (I recommended an all cupcake menu, but apparently that doesn’t meet everyone’s dietary needs for survival. The idea was vetoed. You can’t win them all I guess). I get to pick out how the backstage area is decorated. And I love decorations. And backstage areas. There are so many different decisions to be made regarding video content and lighting and changes. So basically….I’m excited.

“There are a bunch of new people you’re going to see with us this year on that stage. First of all, we have six new dancers who can point their toes and twirl and stuff with the best of them. On the band side, we’ve added another backup singer and her name is Liz. And she’s precious and amazing. You might have seen her perform with us on Leno. That was her first TV gig with us. Another change I wanted to give you guys the heads up on: Unfortunately, you won’t see Ben playing banjo with us anymore. We’re gonna miss him so much, but he’s got dreams and wanted to pursue them. We’re all so close to him, we’ll never stop seeing him around. All the best. But there’s good news… We’ve got the insanely talented Mike Meadows playing banjo/mandolin/guitar/keys/cello now (told you he was ridiculous. Count that list of instruments. For those of you who would rather not do unnecessary math on a weekend, that’s five instruments.) Mike is hilarious and fits right in with us. He and Liz are part of the family now and I can’t wait for you to see what they can do. They’ve joined ‘The Agency’ (my band has referred to themselves as The Agency since they got to dress up in suits and sunglasses and ransack a house in the ‘Picture to Burn’ video. The scene of them walking across the yard in slow motion only encouraged this.) So now it’s Grant, Paul, Amos, Al, Caitlin, Liz, and Mike. I love it.

“Ok…… The ACM’s were last week. WOW. What a night! I can’t believe I got to accept 2 awards, and winning Album of the Year absolutely blew me away. I won two awards because I was the artist and the co-producer on Fearless. I write songs in my bedroom, and have so much fun doing this, it doesn’t really feel like work. The fact that you can win Album of the Year for that was just unbelievable to me. And after I performed, Reba surprised me by giving me the Crystal Milestone award for selling more records than anyone else this year. I can’t thank you guys enough for making the album the success story that it has been this year. That’s all you. Thank you. Thank you. THANK YOU.

“We may or may not be shooting the video for ‘You Belong With Me’ this week, and I may or may not be really excited about it. There’s that word again. I need to get a thesaurus. I’m… thrilled and ecstatic about shooting this video. Can’t wait for you to see it!

“Hmmm… other updates..I’ve worn a dress every day for the past three weeks, and I’m definitely sure now that I’m just better off in dresses. I’ll be rehearsing tomorrow and every day until we play our first show. I hope you had a great holiday! lovelovelove -T-”

Taylor Swift is Radiant in Red

Taylor Swift stands out on the red carpet in a ruby red Angel Sanchez dress at the 44th Annual Academy Of Country Music Awards held at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas on Sunday night (April 5).

The 19-year-old musician completed her red carpet look with Neil Lane jewels, a VBH clutch and Christian Louboutin heels. Taylor is nominated for two awards tonight — Top Female Vocalist and Album of the Year (for Fearless).

Taylor posed with fellow country artist Carrie Underwood backstage at rehearsals earlier this afternoon. She recently tweeted, “Listening to Miranda Lambert sing her new song ‘Dead Flowers’. Incredible! It’s gonna be huge.”
